Very exciting news on the Art front, we have collaborated with one of our favourite artists Ali McNabney-Steven to create on original work just for our walls! Hopefully you are familiar with Ali by now, she has been on our walls for the last few seasons and we love her bold colour palette and strong composition of line and shape. Ali has earned her Honours Degree in Design and History of Art in Edinburgh and since has confidently created her own courageous style. Now residing in Melbourne Ali is a proud Mum of 3 and has now taken on painting full time. It has certainly paid off as her work featured in many leading boutiques, publications and on TV. I spoke to Willows Guru Amelia about commissioning her first piece: " I have never commissioned a piece before but was excited to work with Ali as I love all of her work. I had full faith in Ali and the process and didn't go into too much detail when we were talking about what the piece would look like. As with most of what I bring into the store I wanted it to resonate with my own personal style, I pictured soft yet punchy colours and subtle layers to create a sense of depth within the work. My palate was really inspired by colours i was crushing on at the time; lilac and lemon came to mind - moving away from my 'go-to' bold colours. Im absolutely in love with the finished piece, it will be hard to let go! But proud to put something I've been a part of on the wall for one lucky person to take home. If you are looking for an original piece I would recommend commissioning your own; its a fantastic investment in something you will love forever" Arriving soon in store! Commissioned pieces can be collaborated through us so get in contact with us if you are interested: info@willowshometraders.com.au xx
